Ragged Thymes ~ HeartString Embroidery

About

Hi Everyone! Very pleased to meet you πŸ™‚ I am Stephanie, otherwise known as HeartStrings Embroidery LOL. I have been an embroider and digitizer since early 1995 – which was before children and husband! lol I started out working in a commercial shop on Barudan machines and digitizing software. After my second child was born in 1997 I had to leave my job (daycare was to expensive). I stayed up on what was going on in the embroidery world over the next few years with magazines and the internet. In 1999, my husband surprised me with a Viking Rose Embroidery Machine for Mother’s Day. Not only that but he got me all the software that went with it (how great is that :). I felt like I was home again and have been hard at work ever since. I opened HeartStrings Embroidery almost immediately and started offering designs through the website in 2001. I’m one of the lucky few in this world who have found their niche in life! Even after 13 years of digitizing I still do not consider it work!

I have incorporated many aspects into HeartStrings Embroidery. We have a couple sister sites such as the Free Embroidery Name Library, the PrimiStitch Club and the Embroidery Society Forum. We also have a few other things in the works.. stay tuned! lol

I am now the proud mother of 4 wonderful kids ages 11-5, 2 boys and 2 girls. They make sure that I don’t sit still for long when they are not in school. lol My husband and I are celebrating a dozen years together! πŸ™‚ We are firmly planted in Ohio Farmland and enjoy camping and dirt track racing.

Hi Stephanie
I love your website and designs!!!! Primitive is me!
I am GOING to join the stitch club but have yet to conquer my machine.
First machine ever!!! Last time on machine was in HS ummm 25 years ago. I bought the disney 270 for winter blues hobby and to keep my mind busy from alot of health issues.
Seems every time I start, something goes wrong 😦
I think the main trouble I am having is material and stablizers, but I will get it soon enough.
Hopefully soon and then I will be broke! LOL
Thanks Much Chrissy

I have recently bought a Designer 1 by viking and I am not all that knowledgable with the embroideries. I know that the machine can only read from a floppy disk in the shv format. I noticed that you do not offer this format. I do not have software like Embird that will convert it. I do have Disk manager software that came with the machine. If i download your designs (which I just love) will my machine be able to stitch them?

I have followed Stephanie around for awhile now and you are the best Digitizer around. Great flawless designs, samplers, in the hoop projects and so much more. From the samplers to freebies to her Name Library, you never seize to amaze me. If you are looking for a project or idea, stephanie will come up with one. She has some awesome graphic artists too that share the creativity together to make wonderful design selections. Kudos to your new Blog, you are doing a great job.
