Fun for kids or grandkids – Donut Party

Good morning everyone!!  I thought those of you with young children or grandchildren might be interested in this. A couple times a summer the kids and I have a “Donut Party”. It’s cheap, they have a ball and the prep and cleanup are usually a breeze.  My kids asked for one this morning  🙂

To make the donuts take canned biscuits (Pillsbury or store brand) and cut a hole in the center (I use a 2-liter pop lid-perfect size). Dip the lid in flour first.  Fry in grease for about 2 minutes each side (until lightly brown). Wallaaa – donuts!  lol   Granted they’re not real donuts and still taste a bit like a biscuit but after the kids get done with them they’ll never know.  Cool the donuts or else the frosting/glaze melts!  lol

For the ‘party’ – make powered sugar glaze, add cocoa for chocolate or use frosting (canned works great). We usually have sprinkles, colored sugars, chocolate chips, coconut etc. (whatever is in the cabinet).  Spread out paper towels, use paper plates or napkins and let them go at it. They have a great time decorating their donuts than eating them.

The kids love it and it doesn’t break the bank!!!

Happy Stitching
